Cocoon - A Dream of Falling from the Sky - Old Home
a girl dreams of falling through the sky, and awakes to find herself floating inside a cocoon. she hatches from the cocoon and wakes up again in an unfamiliar room. she thinks she is still dreaming, but then feels her sleeves and notices they are hard, unlike soft and fluffy dream materials. five people walk into the room and eventually introduce themselves as haibanes, and ask the girl what she dreamt of in the cocoon. reki then names her rakka (=falling), and the girl is shocked that she cannot remember her name. hikari plants a spinning halo on to rakka's head to initiate her, but it doesn't stick so they have to use a wire support, which embarrasses rakka. the other people then leave to go back to work. reki tells rakka that she won't be able to remember anything before the hatching. rakka asks what a haibane is, and if they are human, and reki says nobody knows for sure. rakka begins to feel feverish, and reki looks at her back to see two giant lumps. rakka then sprouts wings. the next morning, reki cleans rakka's wings, rakka finds out that she produces static electricity, and reki welcomes her to the old home.
