Garbage Day - Clock Tower - Birds That Fly Over the Wall
rakka is dreaming of a dark, misty place, and sees a crow off in the distance. she asks where she is, and hears the sound of a deep bell. she is waken up by kana, who is banging on a metal bucket above rakka's head. after rakka gets dressed, kana asks her to take the garbage out. they walk to the incinerator, and see that crows have figured out how to open the lock on it, and have thrown garbage everywhere. rakka comments on how intelligent they are as kana chases them away with a broom. rakka suggests they leave a separate pile for the crows. kana refuses, and says that if the crows get fed, then they would become too comfortable and would never leave the city. kana shows rakka the old home's clock tower which she hopes to someday reactivate, and then rushes to the guest room and stuffs down a piece of toast, chokes on the toast, throws a croissant at rakka, pulls rakka out of the room, and races off to work in a bicycle with rakka hanging for her life on the back. kana is late to work at the clock shop, and is scolded by her boss. kana takes rakka out to the top of the clock tower, and they see birds flying over the wall, which is far away but appears higher than the tower. kana says that birds are thought to carry forgotten memories. rakka later talks with the boss, and assures him that she isn't replacing kana. the boss is relieved, and says that he sometimes worries that kana will just fly away, but rakka says the wings are just ornamental. the next day, a crow poops on kana.
