Temple - Washi - Pancake
rakka goes to the temple with hikari, who says she needs to buy a new mold for the halos. rakka is given a handbook, and then goes back to the old home and helps reki with the kids. one of the kids comments that rakka smells like pancakes, and the old dorm master lady (who is a human) says there will be pancakes for desert if the kids eat their bitter carrots. rakka then goes to the bakery to get snacks for the kids, and meets up with kuu on the way there. in the city they see a man at a crepe stand fighting off a crow, and kuu says she feels sorry for the crows because they just want to be friends with people, but the people hate the crows because they take their trash and all they can do is crack their scary beaks and flap their black wings. kuu and rakka then go into the bakery, and one of hikari's fellow bakers mentions how great she is, and that she recently brought in a new type of pan, which makes pastries shaped like halos. rakka gets upset and tells hikari that's not what they're supposed to be used for. when rakka gets home she tries to wash her pancake-smelling halo off in the sink, and hikari tells her she's sorry.
